DESCRIPTION:To help us celebrate and show off the new lighting in the chur
 ch\, the Swan Singers are presenting a concert of music on the themes of d
 arkness and light.  As dusk falls\, the first half of the programme will f
 eature works as varied as the heart-breaking When David Heard by Thomas To
 mkins from the 16th century to the 20th century motet Valiant-for-Truth by
  Vaughan Williams.  In the second half of the programme\, as the lights of
  the church enhance the glorious architecture and highlight previously hid
 den details\, the choir will lighten the mood with music by composers incl
 uding Thomas Tallis and Eric Whitacre\, ending with the very appropriate e
 ight-part anthem Hail Gladdening Light by the 19th century composer Charle
