Christ Church PCC met by Zoom on Thursday 7th January to consider a letter from Bishop Ruth and the three Archdeacons, who suggested we consider carefully the wisdom of meeting in church, despite the government allowing us to do so, particulary where the congregation and church officers are elderly or vulnerable. Covid rates in Pill and Easton have risen sharply in the last 7 days, so reluctantly, the PCC decided to close the church for public worship during January, but will assess the risk on a regular basis, and resume public worship when we consider it safe to do this. We will suggest to churches together that the joint service to mark the week of prayer for Christian Unity, scheduled for 24th January be an online Zoom service, to avoid the risk generated by several congregations coming together.
