St John’s held its first Lammas service in the Benefice on Sunday 2 August in the Churchyard. The Service was led by the Rev Terry Curnow.  Mary Cook gave the talk about farming at this time and the meaning of Lammas to farmers. Despite the weather, There was a good sized congregation  who spread round the Churchyard on camping chairs, sharing worship and the eating their own picnic and meeting friends who they had not seen for so long.  Terry Curnow said that despite having been a Vicar for nearly sixty years he had never led a Lamma Service, so this was a first for him. We hope to be able to open our doors again soon for Worship, so check back here and on the Church door. Click here to see photos from the Lammas Service
