Alison Cursham’s walks raise £865 for the Foodbank

24 Aug 2020, midnight

During lockdown it occurred to me that people would find it difficult to donate food to the Taunton Foodbank as the Church was shut. In view of this and inspired by Brenda Kenny doing two marathons on a static bike in her garage, I decided I could perhaps walk a marathon during the month of July.

Once I got started I decided I could do a half marathon a week, so trying to complete two marathons in the month, aiming to raise £150.

The walks included the Bridgwater Canal, Cotlake Hill, Netherclay Fields, Norton Fort, Rag Hill, Nailsbourne and Dodhill. The photo is a photos of me on one of the walks, thinking particularly of all of you who have been unable to go far during the lockdown.

Owing to the generosity of the Staplegrove Community, a sum of £865 has been given to the Foodbank, which will help to make a difference to many Taunton people.

Thank you all. Alison
