Church of England Diocese of Blackburn St. Mary the Virgin and St. Paul Blackburn

HOLY WEEK & EASTER AT BLACKBURN CATHEDRAL

12 Mar 2021, 8:30 a.m.

Holy Week and Easter Worship

The Blackburn Director of Public Health has indicated his recommendation that faith communities should not be open for public worship will be withdrawn from Monday 8 March.

Since the government advice is still to stay at home and work from home wherever possible, the Cathedral will be open for public worship from Tuesday 9 March, but with services shortened and simplified in order to limit the amount of time spent in the building and limited to three singers.

All major holy days will be supported by online worship, as we have been doing on Sundays, so if you would rather stay at home be assured that you are following government advice and still able to participate in the worshiping life of the Cathedral.

From Monday 8 March morning prayers will be available Monday to Friday from about 9.30am on YouTube.

From Monday to Friday you can participate in Evening Prayer by Zoom – the login details are available from [email protected]
