St Stephen's Little Harwood

Welcome to the website of St Stephen's’ Cof E Church in Blackburn, Lancashire

WE LOVE JESUS – WE LOVE OUR NEIGHBOURS – WE RESPECT DIVERSITY IN LITTLE HARWOOD

St Stephen's church is a worshipping Christian community in the Little Harwood area of north Blackburn and we extend a warm welcome to all.  Our building dates back to the late 1800's and is dedicated to St Stephen the first Christian martyr whose story is told in the beautiful stained glass windows inside the church building (you can read his story in the Bible in the Acts of the Apostles chapters 5 and 6).  As  the only Christian church in Little Harwood we welcome people from all Christian denominations, those who have no connection with any church and those who would just simply like to find out more about the Christian faith to worship with us.  We are proud of our links with our church school and our community.

Services within the church building and livestreamed services are taking place - please see our Services page for details.  Normal activities are resuming following cessation during the current pandemic.  Please see our Notices page for details.

May the amazing grace of the Master, Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, and the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit, be with you, always.

Please email [email protected] with comments, suggestions or stories or information you may have of your time at St Stephens.

Safeguarding

The parish of Blackburn St Stephen is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs: Dawn Gouldthorpe 07966846267 / [email protected]. The Diocese of Blackburn’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
