DESCRIPTION:Brindle St James’ church invites you to a Hunger Lunch after
  the 10.30am church service until 2pm on Sunday 23rd March. There will be 
 a choice of tomato or chicken soup served in a beaker with a bread roll. T
 ea\, coffee and squash are also available. If anyone would like to offer c
 akes they will be gratefully received and may be brought to the hall on Su
 nday after 10am.\n\nYou are invited to make a donation\, suggested £5 or 
 more if you are able\, but please come prepared with cash.\n\nA Church Hun
 ger Lunch is typically organized by a church community to raise awareness 
 and funds for people experiencing hunger and poverty. The modest meal of s
 oup and bread is intended to symbolize solidarity with those who have limi
 ted access to food. It is hoped those attending might donate what they wou
 ld have spent on a more substantial meal\, with proceeds going to charitie
 s\, food banks\, or initiatives addressing hunger locally or globally. \n\
 nThese events are often held during Lent or other times of reflection\, em
 phasizing themes of compassion\, gratitude\, and social justice. The conce
 pt has evolved from early Christian practices of sharing food with the poo
 r to modern initiatives addressing hunger and poverty.\n\nCharities which 
 have benefitted previously include Northwest Air Ambulance\, Blackburn Rum
 mage Rescuers\, Foxton Centre supporting the homeless\, Salvation Army and
  Christian Aid.\n\nOn this occasion it has been decided to support local c
 harities with the proceeds being shared by St Catherine’s Hospice and De
 rian House. \n\nPlease be generous and thank you in advance for your suppo
