Dear friends, brothers and sisters, friends and neighboursWe, as a nation, indeed as a world, are facing a situation so severe we have never seen the like in our lifetime. The Church of Hesketh with Becconsall, All Saints assures you of our ongoing love and prayers. We have been given instruction by our Archbishops that all Public Sunday services are to cease with immediate effect. We are, with our sister Churches and others in the village, working towards a plan to make sure that the most needy and vulnerable in our part of the world are cared for. We are not stepping back, we want to step up and invite you to join in and help. This may take the form of food deliveries, medicine drops, alerting emergency services and an ear at the end of a phone. Please call 01772 814458 but not after 9:00pm unless it is an emergency. We will continue to support the food bank as we always do. If you want to donate tins or packets of non-perishable foodstuffs, please bring them to The Rectory at 1, Silverdale, Hesketh Bank, next to the Church Hall, or bring your gift to church and leave it in the tubs near the door. Some food bank gifts will be held back and given out in the village. We ask the community to tell us of anyone who is struggling. If any businesses want to help, please contact The Rector. We are asking people to be good neighbours. Please don't intrude on people, but if you have a concern, please alert us and we will look into it. Any visits will be in accord with strict Safeguarding rulesIt is a real joy to report that after only a few hours of beginning to put out leaflets in just one area, several people have already volunteered to help. In times of difficulty, The British have always come together in community spirit. It is our time now to come together and show the best side of our characterYours in JesusRev Dave 01772 814458
