Church of England Diocese of Blackburn Foulridge Saint Michael and All Angels

17 Mar 2020, 2:45 p.m.
On the advice of the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, we are temporarily suspending Public Worship for a season at St Michael and All Angels. Our usual pattern of Sunday services, mid-week gatherings and social events has been put on hold.

This does not, however, mean that we and the rest of the Church has "shut up shop"; far from it.  But, as the Archbishops have written:

"Being a part of the Church of England is going to look very different in the days ahead.  Our life is going to be less characterised by attendance at church on Sunday, and more characterised by the prayer and service we offer each day.  We may not be able to pray with people in the ways that we are used to, but we can certainly pray for people.  And we can certainly offer practical care and support."

Watch out for further information on how we intend to provide this care and support to our community here in Foulridge in the days ahead.  But right now, please continue to pray for our Government and nation, for each other, and especially for those who work in our health and emergency services.
