Director of Music David Thornton hosts the weekly rehearsals on Zoom, preparing a programme of hymns and anthems to rehearse. He accompanies the singers on the piano in his home. It soon became clear that singing together would work only if David muted all the participants except himself, so they sing along to his playing with added help from his wife, a soprano in the choir, who can be heard as well.

The social interaction is important too and  there is laughter (oops - dropped my phone! or, No, you haven't muted us yet David! or Why have you got a light bulb coming out of your head? - and so on)

Twelve singers are taking part, though sometimes one or two cannot join in because of technical difficulties. Some of the choristers have no access to the internet and  cannot join in but one of them has a hymn book at home so that she can continue to sing hymns and other choir members are keeping in touch by phone.
