We are collecting filled shoe boxes for the Link to Hope shoebox appeal. There are leaflets available in church or I can drop you one off. The charity is a Christian one who believe in distributing love to those in need regardless of background, colour, creed or religion. They send shoeboxes to Romania, Moldova, Ukraine and Bulgaria. Shoeboxes can be made up for families who often have to choose between buying food or fuel. They live in appalling conditions without electricity or running water and Christmas gifts for their children are just not a priority. And there are also shoeboxes for the elderly who are being left alone due to their families working away.
You can find more information here about what to pack in the boxes
These need to be dropped off in church or at the vicarage or I can collect from you by the 1st November so I can get them to the drop off point in Chorley the following week.
The leaflet asks that people stick £3 to it and then tape it to the box. Please do not do that, just fill in the gift aid form if applicable and place the money in a separate envelope. This is for security reasons for the driver collecting the box, the money will be sent separately by bank. If the labels are stuck to the boxes then the lady coordinating the collection needs to go through them all and remove them which is hard work for her. Many thanks in advance for your support.
