As the country has entered its third national lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic the decision has regrettably been taken to suspend public worship at St. Michael's. Under previous circumstances the church was deemed to be 'Covid secure' but the new variant of Covid 19, its increased transmission rate and government advice to stay at home has led the Vicar and Wardens to ask the Bishop of Blackburn to support the suspension of worship at this time.
The church remains open for the Occasional Offices, within strict Government guidelines, so weddings and funerals may continue to take place. Full details of the restrictions are available on this site.
The situation will be reviewed regularly and it is hoped that we can reopen as soon as possible.
