DESCRIPTION:In a departure from the usual Sunday afternoon timing\, our ne
 xt Charlton Fine Arts recital will take place on the evening of Saturday 2
 1st June at 7pm when we invite you to join us for a programme of 'Cool Cla
 ssics for Midsummer'. In this recital Kent-based operatic soprano Sophie R
 adley accompanied at the organ and piano by Richard Davies will showcase s
 ome of the best-known pieces in the repertoire.  The programme features Mo
 zart's dramatic motet 'Exsultate Jubilate' concluding with the famous 'All
 eluia' alongside classics such as the Gounod and Schubert settings of 'Ave
  Maria' together with favourite arias from Handel's 'Messiah' including 'I
  know that my Redeemer liveth'. There will also be a selection of pieces f
 rom early Italian opera and in between the vocal groups Richard will play 
 organ pieces by J S Bach\, Alain and Scarlatti.\n\nWe hope you will be abl
 e to join us for this concert as a celebration of fine music in the magnif
 icent acoustics of Charlton at midsummer!
