The proposed ongoing dates of the Lent course are: Wednesdays 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th & 31st March @ 7.30pm.
The book we have chosen to study at Lent is: Living His Story: Revealing the extraordinary love of God in ordinary ways by Hannah Steele. It is the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Lent book for this year. Part of it was written in the first lockdown so the writer is recognising the current challenges the church is facing. It gives a ‘fresh perspective on evangelism’ and helps us to ‘become more confident and creative in the task of witnessing’. Steele argues convincingly that Lent is the right season to prepare for the Easter-morning call to ‘go and tell’. , if you would like a copy of the book and cannot get it, contact: Rev. Katharine Butterfield (01768 898176) If needed, we will deliver it to you, or supply one free.. Please do not hesitate to ask, as we hope many of you will be able to participate in the Lent course by collectively reading the book. There are seven chapters and we are proposing reading the relevant chapter ahead of the Zoom meeting where the contents will be discussed.
For those who are unable to participate on Zoom, they will still be able to read the book at home and engage in the Lent material.
The series of discussions that the author of the
Lent book, Hannah Steele has had with 7 participants, including the
Archbishop, Justin Welby, can be found on the website or by by clicking on the following
