RE-OPENING OF CHURCH AND CHURCH BUILDINGS 30TH JUNE 2020
I want to give you an update about our plans to re-open the Churches and our other buildings.
As you know we have been working in accordance with Government guidelines to open the Churches for private prayer.
I am pleased to confirm that with the assistance of the Wardens we have configured the seating and an operating plan, and this has been reviewed by Claire Hanrahan and Callum Bazeley who have conducted a health and safety and risk assessment survey.
Church will be open for private prayer on Tuesday mornings between 10a.m. and 12 noon and Thursday evenings between 5pm and 7p.m. commencing Tuesday July 7th. There will be a steward on hand who will direct you, help you to know what to do and where to sit. Please follow what they ask. We want to keep you all safe and a lot of thought has gone into how we can best do this.
The Standing Committee and Ministry Team are now working on a plan to re-open for public worship which has been pronounced permissible (although not compulsory). The current aim is to try and hold our first service on Sunday August 2nd but we need to work out a detailed plan and it will be affected by possible changes in Government guidelines . The Standing Committee meet again on July 20th and I will update you after that. In the meantime our on-line services will continue: www.facebook.com/stpetershale or go to the church website and follow the link.
During July we are also working on a plan for re-opening St Peter’s House in part at least from 3rd August. Our office staff Claire and Maxine will be continuing to work from home and are contactable via e-mail.
The Assembly Rooms will remain closed and we plan to review how we might open up this building at the end of August having in mind the various groups who use the building and who will have plans for a new season’s activities in the autumn.
St Elizabeth’s, Ashley
The church will begin opening for private prayer on Sunday 5th July between 11am and 12 noon. A risk assessment has taken place. Stewards will attend and help and direct people.

Finally, we ask you to remember that we want to keep you all safe and healthy and we recognise that many of our congregations are in the vulnerable category to whom we have an enhanced duty of care.
Please pray for those serving on our Standing Committees and the ministry team that they are guided into wise decision making in an unprecedented time in our lives for which none of us have had any training or previous experience.
