Connecting our church community - take a look at our weekly newsletter bringing lots of news from our church community.
It is Holy week and Easter approaches: the most important week in the Christian calendar.
This week’s newsletter contains all the information you need for our various services, and I do hope that you will be able to join us for worship, whether live or on Zoom.
I am sending it out a little earlier than usual as some might wish to have the information on the various Holy Week services now rather than later. Please note, there is a celebration of Holy Communion on Maundy Thursday at 10.30 in the nave (not mentioned in the newsletter this week): all other services are on the front page.
As always my thanks to the many people who contribute articles, photographs, humour, reflections, etc. It is a mini-miracle each week that the content arrives and is so varied. This week Dorothy Bentley Smith has submitted a thoughtful and hopeful poem which came to her recently and which meant a lot to me, not least as it seems so long since I last saw Dorothy; we have Izzy’s lyrics to the wonderful song she sang at the recent youth-led service; a different version of the Rublev icon to ponder; and pictures of the splendid Easter bonnets made by two of our young members to inspire us all to get constructing our own for Sunday! In addition are many informative articles reflecting the breadth of our church life. I hope there is something for everyone.
Please note that attached with this mailing are two additional PDFs – one is the Easter quiz for children (which adults might also enjoy) and the other is the answer sheet for the quiz.
Enjoy your reading and, most of all, take time to reflect and ponder on Good Friday and to celebrate wholeheartedly on Easter Sunday.
