Church of England Diocese of Chester Saint Michael and All Angels, Macclesfield

Third Sunday of Easter (26 April 2020)

MANY APOLOGIES that there is a clip of Margaret from Open the Book missing from this service.
You can watch the missing segment separately here.

We are still in the season of Easter, so: Alleluia! Christ is risen! He is risen indeed, alleluia!

The fact that we are still unable to worship together is especially upsetting today, because we were due to gather together to thank God for our curate, Revd Karen Brady, for her ministry amongst us these past 3 or so years, and to pray for God's blessing on her as she prepares to become the vicar of St Michael & All Angels' Runcorn.

We had plans for a gathering of friends from around the Team and further afield, and our service of thanksgiving would be followed by cake, and probably the odd Curly Wurly or ten!

So as you join us in Sunday worship, Karen preaches from what is a special text for her, and we hear memories, greetings, "thank-you"s and farewells from many friends. So apologies for a longer-than-usual service this week, but we trust you'll understand!

God is good, and as we mark what is inevitably an occasion of both sadness and joy, we're sure you'll be delighted to see and hear from surprising contributors. So join us this day.

For copyright reasons we cannot include song tracks within the service, so we suggest a couple of songs you might sing along to. Pause the video at these points, and click on the appropriate link displayed below, opening it in a separate tab. After the song you can easily return to the recorded service where you left off.

First song: Before the Throne of God above

Second song: Great is Thy faithfulness

Thank you for joining us in worship. If you would like to contribute in some way, perhaps with a reading or acting out the storytelling, or you'd like to share something you've experienced in worship or you'd like us to support you in prayer then please do get in touch.
