We are delighted that St Paul's have been awarded a grant of £25,000 as part of the Covid-19 Emergency Heritage at Risk Response Fund. This fund was launched by Historic England and almost quadrupled thanks to the Government's Culture Recovery Fund, to cover maintenance and repairs urgently needed on historic buildings and sites up and down the country.
This grant will enable us to complete urgent repairs to our roof due to damage caused by the storms of last February and general wear and tear, and prevent water ingress into our worship space and the Bell Tower. It means that by the time we are able to worship fully together again our church building will be water tight and our Bell Ringing team will be able to ring out the bells in a dry space. Being able to conserve this historic building now, allows us to continue to serve our community into the future.
