Church of England Diocese of Coventry Ansley

Ansley Church 56th Flower Festival

28 Aug 2020, midnight

OOur country and the world have never faced such issues as we have this year.

Our Flower Festivals are usually 18 months in the planning, but this year’s virtual one only came to being after reading Psalm 100 with a commentary on Sunday 10th May. I was wondering how we at Ansley can witness to the world when one of our main annual events was looking so unlikely to happen. Whilst out walking the message came to me as others have i.e. go “Virtual”. By the end of that walk the theme of “Thank You” around key workers had all been sorted.

Many of us are new to such technologies and our web site was not designed for this type of event, but we have done our best.

For most of the last 30 years we have given a percentage of the income from Flower Festival proceeds to the Nuneaton Hospital League of Friends and the Acorn Children’s Hospice. This year with all charities income so very strained we have decided to divide all the income received before 30th September from this ‘event’ equally between them. If you would like to donate please use the “give.net” button on the right of our home page.

We hope and pray we will all be able to welcome you to our church in person for our 2021 festival, which will commence on Friday 27th August. (Bank Holiday Weekend)
