 t occasions that we mark in Church.  The first (and on the 1st) is All Sai
 nts Day.  This is\, of course\, more widely observed on the Eve of the big
  day as Hallowe’en = All Hallows Evening. This allows us to remember and
  to celebrate those great people\, who\, by their lives and sometimes by t
 heir deaths\, have proclaimed the Christian gospel and demonstrated partic
 ular love for God and other people – the Saints.  \nThe other big one is
  Remembrance Sunday\, the nearest Sunday to 11th November of course\, whic
 h is an important opportunity for us all to pay our respects to and expres
 s our gratitude for those who gave their lives in the two World Wars and o
 ther conflicts\, while also praying that we may not have to have such sacr
 ifices again in the future.\nBut in between those the Church celebrates Al
 l Souls.  (2nd November).  This is a valuable opportunity to remember thos
 e whom we have known personally and who remain in our memories.  That is w
 hat the All Souls service is for.  This year it will be at Halford Church 
 at 7.00 pm  on Monday 2nd November.  There will be the opportunity to ligh
 t a candle in memory of a loved one or loved ones and if you would like so
 meone’s name to be read out at the service please email it to me at: rev
