 ejoicing amidst the solemnity of the season. The name comes from the Latin
  "Laetare\," meaning "Rejoice!"\, as reflected in the traditional Introit:
 \n"Rejoice ye with Jerusalem\; and be ye glad for her\, all ye that deligh
 t in her: exult and sing for joy with her\, all ye that in sadness mourn f
 or her..."\nThis Sunday offers a moment of respite from Lenten disciplines
 \, reminding us that Easter is near. Historically\, it was a day when wedd
 ings could take place\, and servants were given leave to visit their Mothe
 r Church—the church where they were baptized—hence the origin of Mothe
 ring Sunday.\nJoin us as we come together in worship and anticipation of t
 he joy of the Resurrection.
