DESCRIPTION:The service on Easter Eve (Holy Saturday 4 April at 8pm) consi
 sts of three parts. Firstly\, we start the service in darkness as we liste
 n to some readings and await the risen Christ (the vigil). Secondly\, the 
 Paschal candle is lit from the new fire of Easter and brought in processio
 n into the church\, and all the candles in church are lit from this. Jesus
 \, the light of the world\, is risen. Alleluia! (the service of light). An
 d thirdly\, we renew our baptismal vows. As we celebrate the resurrection 
 of our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead\, we remember that through the pasc
 hal mystery we have died and been buried with him in baptism\, so that we 
 may rise with him to new life within the family of his Church. Now that we
  have completed our observance of Lent\, we renew the promises made at our
  baptism.\nEveryone is welcome to experience this moving service\, whether
  you are used to church or not.
