The following resolution was passed at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting on 3 October 2020:

“That this Annual Parochial Church Meeting regrets that it considers that the small size of the regular congregation and advanced age of the members of the congregation mean that it is no longer viable to continue to hold services in St. Andrew’s Church or to continue as a separate Parish. The Meeting therefore considers that the Mission of the church in Blagreaves would best be served by:

a) St. Andrew’s Church ceasing to be the Parish Centre of Worship and closing as a Church, with the building being retained as a Church Hall; and

b) The Parishes of Littleover, St. Peter and Blagreaves, St Andrew merging to form a new single Parish of Littleover and Blagreaves, St. Peter.

The meeting instructs the P.C.C. Secretary to send copies of this resolution to the Bishop of Derby, the Archdeacon of Derby, the Acting Area Dean of Derby City, the Lay Chair and the Secretary of the Derby City Deanery Synod and the P.C.C. Secretary of Littleover, St. Peter.”

This resolution will now go forward for consideration by the Bishop of Derby and other relevant Church authorities.
