It is planned to open St Peter’s to regular worship on Sunday 30 May at 10am. After that services will continue midweek on Wednesdays at 10.30am with a regular Holy Communion and every Sunday at 10am.
Reopening has been delayed to ensure that as many people as possible had received at least one, if not two vaccinations, which would reduce the risk of becoming severely ill with Covid. However, transmission is still an issue and so St. Peter's Church will continue working within the guidelines offered by the Government and the Church of England. In the first instance this will mean continuing with social distancing, mask wearing, hand sanitiser and no singing. Our heartfelt prayer is that singing may resume later in the summer, but as with all of restrictions in these last 18 months, we must continue to ‘follow the science.’
The seats in St. Peter's Church are waiting for you to return and we hope you will come in person. However, for those who struggle to attend for whatever reason, be assured the service will continue to be broadcast live on Zoom. Ensuring we are accessible for everyone is our highest priority.
