Sawley Rectory 31st December 2020

Dear Everyone

Having prayerfully considered yesterday's government announcement raising the corona virus restrictions in our area to Tier 4, and after consulting members of the PCC Standing Committee, I have taken the decision to suspend services at All Saints' and St. Mary's until further notice.

The Church of England continues to advise that services can still take place following government guidelines, however I am concerned about the rise in the number of corona virus cases locally and the difficulties in keeping people safe if we continue to meet.

We will continue to provide recorded services on Wednesdays and Sundays which will be available via our website https://www.saintsandangels.online or click here.

. For those who do not have access to a computer, recordings of services on cd will be available. We will also make use of Zoom meetings and the telephone to keep in touch with each other.

I think we have all learned that it is possible to function as a church without regular face to face meetings, and whilst this is not an ideal situation, I hope you will all agree, that for the present, this is the way we must continue in order to keep everyone safe.

With my prayers for you all.

Reverend Tony Street
