 ished Christian worship tradition observed near to Christmas Eve. The serv
 ice weaves together nine short Bible readings—spanning from Genesis to t
 he Gospels—that narrate the story of humanity’s fall\, the promise of 
 the Messiah\, and the birth of Jesus. These readings are interspersed with
  the joyful melodies of Christmas carols\, hymns\, and choir anthems. Its 
 origins trace back to Truro Cathedral in Cornwall\, where the first formal
  service was conducted in 1880 by Bishop Edward White Benson. This beautif
 ul tradition invites worshippers into the heart of the Christmas narrative
 \, celebrating the hope and light that Christ brings to the world. This se
 rvice takes place at our Sister Church\, St. Cuthbert's in East Rainton.
