Church of England Diocese of Durham Bishopwearmouth St. Nicholas

Dedication Sunday

8 Sep 2021, 2 p.m.
<div><div>This Sunday, 12th September, is the anniversary of the Dedication of St Nicholas' Church as a place of Christian worship in 1939. Did you know we have one member of the congregation today who was there that day, as a choirboy?</div></div>

<div><div>Our 8.00 a.m. service will be, as always, Holy Communion from the Book of Common Prayer.</div></div>

<div><div>Our 10.30 a.m. service will be one of Morning Prayer.* It will have a celebratory feel, with the return of a full complement of five hymns, accompanied by our organist who is returning for the first time since the lockdown for the occasion. We'll be reflecting on what it means to be built together, like living stones, by Jesus.</div></div>

<div><div>Everyone is welcome to join us as we celebrate, and especially anyone who has a personal connection to this place over the years through baptisms, weddings, and family funerals.</div></div>

<div><div>*The 10.30 a.m. service is one of Holy Communion (Common Worship) on the first, third and fourth Sunday of the month; and Morning Prayer on the second and any fifth Sunday of the month.</div></div>
