 lip Moore and prayers by Eric Milner-White. \n\nThe Stations of the Cross 
 are a series of images depicting Jesus Christ on the day of his crucifixio
 n and accompanying prayers. They originated in a desire to trace the Via D
 olorosa (sorrowful way) in Jerusalem\, the traditional route symbolising t
 he path Jesus walked to Mount Calvary. \n\nTheir objective is to help wors
 hippers make a spiritual pilgrimage through contemplation of the Passion o
 f Christ. Traditionally\, a series of 14 images appears along a path or ar
 ound the walls of a church around which we move in order\, stopping to say
  prayers and engage in reflections associated with that station. \n\nTonig
 ht’s service combines music and image to deepen our reflections on the s
 orrowful way.
