Following the latest Government Measures to control the spread of the Covid-19 virus (Coronavirus) all Churches in the Orwell Group will now be temporarily closed until further notice. This decision was made by the Archbishops and Bishops of the Church of England in order to help protect both our communities, its individuals as well as the National Health Service.
The government has today announced that places of worship can open from Monday 15th June. This is excellent news and we wait to hear from our Bishops on what this will mean and how we can do so safely.
This will also mean that there will be no Church weddings or baptisms during this time
Funerals at the graveside or in crematoriums can still take place, but only in line with the Prime minister’s Statement (ie: with only the closest family in attendance and with essential physical distancing measures in place)
