As we approach Christmas, in this difficult and unpredictable year, the church has had to re-imagine how to celebrate one of the most wonderful festivals in the church year, and indeed one of the most important stories in history. We know that this is a special time of year for many, so we’ve found a way that balances our best-loved traditions in St Peter's with our commitment to one another’s safety.
Starting from 12 December, a creative Christmas journey will take you to Bethlehem and beyond! Along the way, as you explore the church building, you’ll meet the characters of the Christmas story and have a chance to reflect on how the first Christmas brings comfort and joy to our world, even today.
The scenes, created by different groups in the village, will be in place until the New Year, and you can visit on any day (St Peter's will be open between about 9am and 5pm). Invite your friends and find fun for people of all ages.
During the weekends before Christmas Day, we’ll pause at 10am and 2pm each Saturday and Sunday for a reading and prayer. However, during the 10am slot on Sundays 13th and 19th, we invite you to come for a short time of reflection and prayer, led by the ministry team.
