Whilst, because of COVID-19, we are currently unable to worship together in Church, our worship of God does not cease. If ever prayer and worship were needed, it’s now.
With the help of Mike Edwards, our Benefice Secretary, we are sending out a mailing each week, which includes some Bible readings, a short reflection from me, and some prayer points for the week ahead. We have also put together some useful worship resources that can be used at home.
In addition, we are now holding a ‘virtual’ church service at 10.30 am each Sunday morning using the internet service ‘Zoom’. This is free and very easy to set up on your home computer and gives us some slightly more personal contact, and is surprisingly fun and enjoyable.
If you would like to receive any of these resources and/or be involved in the ‘virtual’ service, please send an e-mail to Mike at [email protected], or ‘phone me on 01386 834946.
It goes without saying that these are times when many are understandably feeling deeply anxious. But, they are not hopeless times. We are seeing acts of love and kindness all around us. We remember, too, that God is with us through the highs, and, especially, through the lows, of life. When God’s people faced danger in times past, Moses said to them, in Exodus, chapter 31, verse 6,
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified…for the Lord your God is with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
I pray that, in these difficult times, we will all take those words to heart and meditate on them.
Be assured of my prayers, love and thoughts,
Rev Scott Watts, Team Vicar 31st March 2020
