Important notice about Services at our Parish Church.
From this Sunday (10 January) I will be in Church from 0930hrs to pray and read the appointed lessons for the day. There will be no formal Service and I will shape things according to the number of people who come on the day. I have taken this decision because whilst ‘Communal Worship’ is allowed by law, it is hardly encouraged either, under the circumstances. I understand the dilemma, we are told to stay home unless we need to go out for essential reasons, so how do you classify worship. Wisely the authorities are shying away from saying don’t go to Church!
I feel, having consulted our lay minister and the churchwardens, that I should suspend our usual forms of Service whilst the Covid epidemic has necessitated a national lockdown.
In the meantime, at your own discretion, you are welcome to join me on a Sunday morning for a short period in the Parish Church. Alternatively you can join the online Services from Tewkesbury Abbey or nationally available broadcast Services.
We all need to keep safe and I will respect whatever you decide is right for you. If you need any assistance or support at this difficult time, do not hesitate to contact me.
