 th is lived out with the mutual support of all the people of God. In Chris
 t all the faithful\, both living and departed\, are bound together in a co
 mmunion of prayer.\n\nThe texts set to music come from the old Latin rite 
 in which there was a considerable emphasis on judgement after death. In re
 cent years the liturgies of most parts of the Church have come to stress o
 ther aspects of death: resurrection\, new life\, and the vision of God. In
  this service the scripture readings and the prayers emphasise these point
 s\, whilst some of the musical texts remind us of our need for forgiveness
 \, and that with God there is both mercy and judgement. The movement\, In 
 Paradisum\, is sung after the dismissal as the concluding movement in this
  rite - originally it would have been sung as the coffin was carried out o
 f church. \nMASS SETTING\nMesse de Requiem (Op. 9) Maurice Duruflé (1902-
 1986)\nThe ‘Pie Iesu’ movement is sung by Hannah Dienes-Williams.
