Church of England Diocese of Lincoln Braceborough

Coronavirus. COVID. 19 as we move into National Lockdown

Services in Church (and communal worship and life events)

National Lockdown regulations permit leaving home to attend or visit:

a place of worship for communal worship;

a funeral or event related to a death;

a burial ground or a remembrance garden;

a wedding ceremony.

Though weddings, funerals and religious, belief-based or commemorative events linked to someone’s death are all subject to limits on the numbers that can attend

The government rules specifically allow us to continue to meet for worship. We have discussed this within our Group and we will continue to have services in churches as well as online worship. Each week we will share the link to either our Zoom service, or give you a link to join a relevant service, as well as link to other nationally available services.

To comply with the new regulations and to take precautions to keep ourselves safe the following changes are being made:

Please limit your travel. Practically this means you should attend a service in your village, but anyone who needs to receive the Sacrament can, though if this means you are travelling from outside of your village then please let Fr Aran know.

We are reducing capacity to allow more space around each bubble. There will be a maximum of about 15 people at each service (as a guide this is a reduction from 30 that we have used during Tier 2, 3 and 4).

If you are coming to one of our churches for the first time them please speak to Fr Aran, or one of the Parish Contacts to make sure you have a full understanding of the Covid-19 rules.

St Andrew’s Church, West Deeping; St Faith’s Church, Wilsthorpe; St Michael and All Angels’ Church, Uffington and are still open for private prayer, and should you wish to use your local church building then please contact a Church Warden or me and we will find a way to meet your needs.

Please, if you need help at all or are feeling anxious please call or text Fr Aran Tel. 07590 055905.

We will endeavour to update this notice as the situation develops,
