Church of England Diocese of Lincoln Uffington

A Prayer leaflet from Rev'd Martin for week commencing Sunday 9th August, 2020

I attach a prayer leaflet for the coming week to help maintain the fellowship of prayer while waiting the further easing of the lockdown. As usual, any specific requests for prayer for inclusion in future leaflets would be welcome by Friday evening.

As in recent weeks there will be two services on Sunday 9th August:

• Holy Communion at 9am in St Andrew the Apostle Church, West Deeping – to satisfy Covid-19 precautions please contact Carole Martin ([email protected] or telephone 07484 201413) to book a place. NB those attending are requested to wear face coverings; (see also arrangements set out more fully below).

• Morning Prayer at 11am in the comfort of your own home via Zoom – details in Fr Aran's message, available to download as attached.

It is intended for the time being to continue the pattern of a service of Holy Communion in one of our churches each Sunday at 9am and a virtual service via Zoom at 11am.

The future Communion services currently planned (all at 9am) are

• Sunday 9th August, at St Andrew’s, West Deeping;

• Sunday 16th August, at St Thomas’s, Greatford, (based on BCP);

• Sunday 23rd August, at St Martin’s, Barholm-with-Stowe;

• Sunday 30th August, at St Lawrence’s, Tallington

To book a place at any of these services please email: [email protected] or Telephone 07484 201413.

There are strict (Government and Church) rules about the arrangements for services in church: the churches are thoroughly cleaned (for which we are most grateful to those who helped with this), attendance is limited (to 28 in our churches) to ensure proper social distancing, those attending need to book a place and contact details of those attending have to be recorded and kept for 21 days). The service will be entirely said (no singing is allowed at present to reduce the risk of spreading infection); Communion will be in one kind (ie only the bread). From 8 August the wearing face coverings will be compulsory in places of worship. If you have and queries please speak to Fr Aran (07590 055905).

Details of future Zoom services will be circulated separately week by week.

Wishing you continued blessings as we begin to return to some normality.
