A group of seven volunteers from St Michaels church have been busy since April making reusable face coverings and ear savers for people in the parish. So far over 140 masks have been distributed for free to local residents. Recipients have been extremely pleased with their face coverings. The project has meant that some older and more vulnerable parishioners have been able to go out for exercise and supplies in safety.
The face coverings have been able to help in an emergency as well. One villager was trying to catch the bus into town, but they wouldn't let her on without a mask. Unsure what to do next, she was rescued by a friend who happened to be going past. Her friend contacted Claire, who delivers the coverings, and we were able to get some to her before the next bus was due. Community support at its finest!
