 n't had the opportunity to see it up close. An exact 1:1 scale linen repli
 ca of the famous shroud is making its way to Grantham\, with the help of t
 he Knights Templar! \n\nBrother John Michael wishes to welcome believers a
 nd non-believers alike to come and experience its wonder. \n\nSee it for y
 ourself at St Wulfram's\, from Thursday 27 February through to Monday 3 Ma
 rch. The exhibition is free\, but donations are welcome.\n\nBBC Lincolnshi
 re reported that it is a copy of the original\, which is a linen cloth tha
 t has been venerated for centuries as the burial shroud used to wrap the b
 ody of Jesus after the Crucifixion.\n\nThe 4.4m-long (14ft-long) laser rep
 lica was made about 20 years ago.\n\nBrother John Michael\, who has been i
 nvolved in organising the exhibition\, said the first time it had been on 
 display in England was in 2024.\n\nSpeaking to the BBC\, Brother John Mich
 ael\, from Templars Today\, said: "We use this [replica] to spread the wor
 d of Christianity and to give people who may never get the chance to go to
  Turin [a chance to see it]."\n\nHe said it had previously been on show in
  France\, Germany\, Italy and Spain.\n\nHe added that there were fears the
  original shroud – which is in Turin Cathedral – could eventually be l
 ost\, but the replica provided an opportunity "for the faithful" and the p
 eople who "don't believe\, but are curious" to experience its wonder.\n\nT
 emplars Today is a community interest company\, and Brother John said its 
 aim was to "end hate" and to preserve Christianity and the "wonderful buil
 dings we have".
