Sadness and condolences on the Death of Prince Philip

10 Apr 2021, 12:45 p.m.

Today St George’s rang its bell at midday alongside other bells across the country, to commemorate the sadness of the death of Prince Philip.

We give thanks for the long life and service of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. We hold Her Majesty the Queen and all members of the Royal Family in our thoughts and prayers.

On the morning of the day of Prince Philip's funeral (April 17), we will open the church from 10-12.30pm for people to light a candle and offer a prayer for Prince Philip and for His family if they would wish to do so.  The bell will also be rung during the hour prior to the funeral ending with the national minute's silence at 3pm

Please remember- HANDS- FACE-SPACE - as no mask, no entry will apply in adherence to Current COVID guidelines
