Church of England Diocese of Liverpool St. Oswald, Netherton

From the Archdeacon of Knowsley and Sefton

“I am very pleased to be able to announce that Rev Ali Chesworth has been appointed as the next Team Vicar of Netherton and Sefton.

It has taken longer than all of us would have wished but we have appreciated your prayers and support as we have discerned this.

Ali hails from Scotland and was ordained in the Episcopal church there and worked in Ayr and then Glasgow. She is currently priest in charge St Peter’s Penhill and St Philip’s Upper Stratton in Swindon in the Diocese of Bristol. Before that she was a Team Vicar in Ipswich.

Everyone at the interview warmed to her very much and felt that she was just the right person for this post. She wants to be part of a team and work with that mindset.

She will be coming with her husband, Alan, who is a Primary school Teaching Assistant specialising in 1-1 education for those on the Autism Spectrum and their wee dog! They hope to move in August and she will be licensed on Sunday September 12th at 4pm.”
