Whilst in lockdown we are still 'church', and, as church is us, the people, so we worship at home knowing we are worshipping together, separate but united.
During these difficult times, if you would still like to support us financially, please see our website homepage - https://www.stjohnsainsdale.org.uk/
We are all part of St John’s Church Ainsdale and due to the Coronavirus crisis we are learning to live in a new way. Although we are unable to worship in church, we are still ‘church’ as we are the body of Christ. We are called to do church in a different way, to be a community of love and care, a community in Christ.
Our Archbishops and Diocesan Bishops remind us that “Staying at home and demonstrating solidarity with the rest of the country at this testing time, is, we believe, the right way of helping and ministering to our nation. Therefore, for a season, the centre for the liturgical life of the church must be the home, not the church building”.
As a church we are currently seeking to minister to you in a variety of ways in your home, either by phone, email, through the Website and Facebook.
There are a variety of services available to you on the internet and our website for worship, prayer and reflection.
Please do stay safe, be assured of my prayers and know the love and peace of God,
God our Father, by whose mercy
the world turns safely into darkness and returns again to light:
we place in your hands our unfinished tasks,
our unsolved problems, and our unfulfilled hopes,
knowing that only what you bless will prosper.
To your love and protection
we commit each other and all those we love,
knowing that you alone are our sure defender,
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
With my love and blessings,
Rev'd Jane Morgan MBE
Vicar St John's Church Ainsdale, 708 Liverpool Road, Ainsdale, Southport, PR8 3QE
The Church continues to be alive and active, but now our buildings must close.
We are seeing an increase in the number of people falling sick with COVID-19. We must physically distance ourselves from one another and prevent the spread of infection in order to save lives.
Therefore, as well as public worship being suspended, this and all church buildings in the Diocese of Liverpool are now closed.
Our worship of God and our care for each other continues but cannot be done in this building.
This website contains details of how to join others online for prayer, worship, study, and community life.
Please also see our Facebook link and page.
The vicar and churchwardens of this church can be contacted in an emergency by telephone - see below , or by email: [email protected]
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength . . . Love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”
To protect the vulnerable amongst us, please do not leave your home except for essential trips.
With every blessing,
Revd Jane Morgan Mr Rob Williams Mr David Price
