North East Hub Church Wigan - from Revd Frances Shoesmith, Hub Leader
Here's an update on our plans to begin re-opening some of our buildings for Private Prayer.
Having canvassed opinion across our church membership, we know that most people are supportive of our cautious approach, focussed on keeping everyone as safe as possible.
Our PCC and helpers have various Risk Assessments to work on, and we’ll be inviting people to volunteer for prep/cleaning (to make our buildings safe), and for stewarding (to welcome people, and help our opening hours run smoothly and safely).
There's safeguarding training to be done too.
We hope that in a few weeks’ time, we will have at least one of our buildings open a couple of times a week, for you to come and pray in peace and quiet.
Government regulations sadly do not allow for cuppas or mingling, but we hope that a quiet building will be a place of comfort for our visitors. Of course face masks, 2 metre gaps, gathering of contact details, and many bottles of sanitiser will feature – but we’re all getting used to that sort of thing!
We’ll update you with more details when we can.
