DESCRIPTION:15th August 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the Second Worl
 d War. To mark this poignant and momentous occasion\, and to make sure we 
 at St Bart's do not forget the 'Forgotten Army'\, we will be holding a spe
 cial Evensong in the City on Friday 15th August\, at 7pm (in addition to t
 he usual Evensong in the City on 7th August). \n\nThe service is based on 
 the orders of service used in 1945 for VJ Day in Westminster Abbey and St 
 Paul's Cathedral. The preacher will be the Reverend Canon the Lord Biggar 
 of Castle Douglas\, quondam Regius Professor of Moral and Pastoral Theolog
 y at Oxford. The service will be followed by free food\, and the delights
