DESCRIPTION:Sing Choirs of Angels is a recent addition to our Advent calen
 dar and has proved immensely popular. It is a mix of Christmas music\, rea
 dings and poetry conjuring up a celebratory yet reflective atmosphere ahea
 d of the big day.\n\nThe event takes place on Christmas Eve at 4:30pm for 
 all those who cannot make it to Midnight Mass or who need a moment to draw
  breath and reflect in this busiest of times.\n\nADMISSION\nThe service is
  open to all\, ticketless and free to attend. \n\nMany of our Advent event
 s are very busy\; please reserve a spot for early admission to the church 
 (30 minutes before the event) to avoid disappointment.\n\nWe will hold bac
 k 125 places on a first-come\, first-served basis for admission 15 minutes
  before the service for those who arrive on the day without registration.\

 s will contain a mixture of the old and the new.\n\nEhre sei Gott in der H
 öhe! by the 17th century German baroque composer Andreas Hammerschmidt se
 ts the familiar words of the angels to the shepherds "Glory to God in the 
 highest\, and on earth peace\, good will toward men."\n\nWhen the song of 
 the angels is stilled is a beautiful setting by the London-based musician 
 Paul Ayres of a poem by the American preacher and theologian\, Howard Thur
 man – one of the most influential religious figures of the 20th century.
 \n\nThe choir will also sing a choral arrangement of Peter Warlock's solo 
 song The Frostbound Wood\, which sets a poem by Bruce Blunt\, the English 
 poet and journalist.\n\nSUPPORT ST BRIDE'S\nThere will be a retiring colle
 ction at the end of the service to support the work\, ministry and music-m
 aking of St Bride's and help maintain our magnificent Wren church.\n\nSt B
 ride's is wholly reliant on and deeply grateful for the generous support o
 f our visitors and congregation.\n\nDonations can be made by cash or conta
 ctless at church or via JustGiving. A donation can also be made in advance
  via EventBrite if you choose to register for early admission to the servi
 ce.\n\nDo please Gift Aid your donation if you are eligible which generate
 s an extra 25p in every £1 donated.\n\nADDITIONAL INFORMATION\nDoors open
  at 4pm and the service lasts around 1 hour.
