For the third year running our angels are ready to fly onto a fence, hedge or horse trough in the St Mark's parish. They wait for a still and dry day near the end of term. They are knitted with love and carry a message of love, hope, peace and joy.
Throughout spring and the early summer poems and reflections were posted around the site. It has been a complex time of uncertainty and of not knowing what the new normal will look like or when it will arrive. There has been some scripture but also material from Christian writers such as Henri Nowen and poetry that points to hope. There will be new posters throughout the summer reflecting on the beauty of Creation and finding God in the everyday.
Our building works are now complete and we have a large space that can be used for classes with accessible toilets and a catering kitchen. Most of the evening slots are now taken but we have daytime availability and some weekend slots. Contact hallbookings@stmarkteddington.uk for details.
The meadow was planted in 2019. These meadows look lovely but are not easy to establish. Andrew Saunders worked really hard on it over lockdown and this year you can see all the British Wildflowers that have been sown. With such a late spring we didn't get the Welsh poppies out in the rose hedge on the St Mark's Road side of the church but the roses are now coming out. The poetry around the site will focus on gardens, summer and noticing God in Creation as we go through the summer months.
