Last year around 350 angels landed on hedges and fences around the parish with their message of hope and love for the Christmas Season. This year due to lockdown many more angels are on their way. They have been knitted with love, quarantined for a week and then put out by members of the church wearing gloves and facemasks. Even the angels need to observe the current rules.<span style="font-size: 1rem;">Look out for them as they fly to a hedge near you!</span>
We have always provided space for community events but when the old hall burnt down we found ourselves unable to host as much. Over the past five years we have taken a good hard look at ourselves and our local community. As a result we have started working with more community groups to provide events and space. This has included the Metropolitan Police Safer Neighborhood Team with community gardening and with Sheddington who are making and mending on site. They now have a community garden on site and much more https://sheddington.org/Dance groups, theatre groups, choirs and the local schools have all made use of the church, small hall and grounds as well as hosting children's parties and our local uniformed organisations. We aren't able to replace the hall but we can make better use of the spac we have. In 2018 we took the pews out and this year we are creating a kitchen, adding a ramp and installing fully accessible toilets. Work was halted during the lockdown and has now restarted so we are hoping that by the autumn we will have a fully accessible community space for events and community use.
