Here is a statement from the Bishop of Edmonton concerning the appointment of our new Priest in Charge.
I am delighted to let you know that Revd Prebendary Dr Amatu Christian-Iwuagwu has accepted my invitation to become the new parish priest of Bush Hill Park, as the Priest in Charge of St Mark and St Stephen. Fr Amatu is a wonderful parish priest, who has been ordained for 20 years, having served parishes in Stonebridge, Welwyn and Harmondsworth. Amatu is also an engineer by trade, serving as a project manager. Amatu will be moving to Bush Hill park in early April 2021, and will be licensed on the 21st April 2021 at 7.30. Please keep Amatu, Princess, his wife, and their 5 children in your prayers as they prepare to move.
In addition to being the new parish priest, Amatu will also serve the Edmonton Area by bring the very first Dean of Mission for Racial Justice. Amatu will be part of my senior team, helping shape the Area in our new priority of becoming more racially diverse.
In making this announcement today, I remain indebted to Fr Jeremy for his ongoing ministry amongst us as well. This vacancy process, along with Covid, has been made so much smoother as a result of Jeremy’s dedication to the parishes, for which I am indebted.
Please pray for me as I pray for you.
With my love and prayers,
