Today is the most beautiful festival of the whole year. It is without angst, in that there is an absence of the consumerism of Christmas and the violence that surrounds Easter.

Today, Pentecost (Whitsunday) is about affirmation of the individual.

'And there appeared unto them cloven tongues, like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them; and they all filled with the holy ghost.' Please read the Acts of the Apostles, Chapter 2, 1-11

This pastel painting by Caroline, bursting with colour, is a wonderful visual image for today's festival. It is beautifully warm, colourful, speaks of the personality of Caroline and all who enter into the joy of the festival. This is our 11th week in which we are not able to meet as a congregation. However you celebrate Pentecost, enjoy it. Pick flowers in the garden, enjoy the food you eat together, make it special.
