Since the PM's announcement of the 'roadmap' out of lockdown, I have been inundated with requests for baptism later this year. But nothing has actually changed yet and it is still unclear what the guidelines and rules will be around numbers and social distancing etc. I will open the diary to take bookings for these services only after Easter - so please wait until then.
Baptisms at St John's require that you live in this parish or attend this church / intend your children to attend this church. I know some feel this is their 'family church' but there needs to be a living and active pastoral relationship with this church if you do not live in the parish and want your child(ren) baptised here. This is in accordance with the guidelines of the Church of England practice.
Churches that have meant a lot to families are closing up and down the country for lack of support - attendance and financial. As with local shops, it is a case of 'use it or lose it'. If it matters to you that this church be here for your generation as it was for the last, and you would like it to be here for the next, then please support us or we will not survive.
