Remembrance Day 2021

After the worries of covid and the closure of our churches, it was truly wonderful to see Ramsbottom come together yesterday morning at St Paul's for the Service of Remembrance. From the March Past with the Uniformed Groups led by the band, to the laying of wreaths it was a humbling sight. The clock chimed at 11.00am the last post was played, and the flags were lowered, whereby the two minute silence was kept by all. Recalled memories showing in the faces of many in the crowd. The service continued in church, ending with the rousing singing of Jerusalem. Our young uniform groups (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Army Cadets) were an example to all. Their leaders should be very proud of their exemplary behaviour throughout. 'Lest We Forget'
