On 23 March 2021, it will be one year since the first UK lockdown. Since then, many have been ill with COVID-19, some seriously, and we have all been living restricted lives, with many of us suffering losses of one kind or another. Indeed, many have been bereaved, both due to Covid-19 and other causes, and have had to grieve without the comfort of having friends and family around them.
The Church of England is supporting a National Day of Reflection organised by the charity, Marie Curie. There will be a minute’s silence at 12 noon to create a moment that shows support for the bereaved. We are also encouraged to place a lit candle or lantern in our windows at 8pm.
At Christ Church, we will be ringing the church bell to mark the end of the minute’s silence and our church building will be open for private prayer from 12-1pm.
Then, at 7.30pm, we will post a service of reflection and remembrance on our Facebook Page, https://www.facebook.com/ChristChurchAinsworth . You are welcome to join us.
